Update: May 13, 2017
Just an update to this Xfinity experience from hell! After being charged for services that were canceled and questioning the only person from X-cast finity that provided any assistance. It turns out the sub-contracted installer that showed up for an appointment that was canceled is the main reason for concern. The installer forged (Forged) my signature stating that he performed the service install which included 2 new boxes and an upgraded router that I never received. Turns out this is the reason I was billed. Forging a person signature is a crime and I can’t believe this guy had the nerve to sign my name. Did he think I wouldn’t call and question the bill? Did he really think he could actually get away with this? Or is this just an attempt to increase sales and deal with the consequences later?
I have no home phone service at the moment due to xcast porting my number from Verizon to xcast. Yep, they canceled our home phone service and phone number that my wife has had for over 35 years. I remember why I switched to DirecTV 12 years ago and hopefully will never think of going back to Xcast ever again.
Tomorrow brings another day and may turn out to be a Better Business Bureau day. Again, if you have door to door cable pushers knocking at your door, don’t open it! This can and will happen to you also. BEWARE
Danger – Danger – Danger
Knock Knock Knock On My Chambers Door
To the residents of Huntingdon, Pa and it’s surrounding towns, use caution when opening your door! Beware of the door to door cable salesman. That is correct, a door to door salesman selling cable tv, phone, the internet and even home security system. I was formerly a customer of this company 12 years ago. I will admit to using their internet service, due to the fact residents of Huntingdon County only have 2 choices.
After listening to the salesman for over an hour, it seemed more like a doctor’s appointment than a sales pitch. He promised a better service at big savings and customer support that will be there when needed. Mr. T even explained that he would be my personal support representative. Imagine that, a personal cable support representative for me plus better service and cheaper. I’m in a digital utopia.
No No No – I said No No No
Wake up Dave, remember why we left this company in the first place. After speaking with numerous existing customers we decided to cancel the service upgrade and stay with just the internet plan. I explain to the “personal customer support representative”, Mr. T that we decided not to upgrade and please cancel the technician call on Saturday. I should have known that Mr. T sending a total of 10 texts and emails that he wasn’t going to do anything to cancel this, seeing he works on a quota.
Saturday afternoon and the technician arrives to install the equipment and upgrade. I informed him that the appointment was canceled and no service or upgrade was needed. The technician is understandably pissed as he gets paid by the install. Mr .T didn’t cancel the appointment, my email request to the company was ignored and the phone number listed on the website wasn’t working.
Sunday night around 10:00 pm an email from XCast arrives congratulating us on our upgrade and that the bill of $205.51 was due. Okay, here we go. Phony charges and poor customer support were the reason for switching years ago, and now I thank you for the reminder of why your greedy company sucks.
Starting Off The Week
Monday I finally get in touch with a customer service rep, although not a “personal rep” who explains that they have a signed copy of the installation being successfully completed on Saturday. The rep also stated that since I have the equipment and signed the form (never signed a form or received any equipment) she wouldn’t be able to remove the charge until the imaginary equipment was returned! We spoke or should I say attempted to communicate with nothing being resolved.
I can’t believe that a company of their size has to reduce to such slimeball tactics that teeter on the verge of breaking the law. How many senior citizens do they pull this method on? You have been warned, don’t open the door to feared cable salesman.
Stay tuned for an update!
